What began as a simple hobby in 2022 quickly grew into a true passion after receiving a culture of Magic Potion isopods as a freebie with a tarantula purchase. That single culture sparked a fascination with the incredible diversity, behavior, and beauty found within the hobby. Soon after, additional species including Oreo Crumbles, Orange Creams, Dairy Cows, and Milk Backs joined the collection — and from there, the passion only continued to grow.

Today, I proudly care for more than 250 bins of isopods, springtails, and millipedes, with a strong focus on maintaining healthy colonies and providing quality animals to fellow hobbyists. What started under the name Gambit Geckos in 2023 eventually evolved into PodHaus in October 2025. 

​

Running PodHaus as a one-man operation while working 12-hour overnight shifts as a Correctional Officer is not always easy and and sometimes gets very overwhelming.  However, the passion I have for this hobby, and my amazing customers, makes every bit of effort worthwhile. Seeing others enjoy and succeed with the species I raise is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Beyond the animals themselves, this hobby has provided countless opportunities to learn, grow, and connect with an amazing community of enthusiasts. PodHaus is built on a genuine passion for the hobby, a commitment to quality care, and a desire to help others discover and enjoy these incredible species. I look forward to continuing to grow within the community and remaining a positive and active part of the hobby for years to come.
