Master Springtail Clay Culture Kit - 8oz.

This is an "all you need" kit to start your own master springtail clay culture.

It will come with and 8oz. deli cup with premium springtail clay already coating the bottom and sides, a small sample of homemade food to feed your springtails, and a pipette to help with keeping your culture moist without over watering.

You also have the option to add your choice of springtails to add to your kit and they will be packed and shipped in this container.

Species offered: Folsomia candida "Temperate", Ceratophysella isabellae "Lilac", Ceratophysella isabellae "Yellow Albino", Ceratophysella isabellae "White Albino", Proistoma minuta "Blue Podura", Coecobrya tenebricosa "Tropical Pink/White", Onychiurinae sp. Little Soil or Lepidocryrtus sp.

Simply add the springtails of your choice if you will be adding your own, open the lid 2-3 times a week for oxygen exchange, feed a small sprinkle of food on top of the clay and a few drops of water once a week.

The species we offer as part of this kit are springtails that do well on clay.  If you will be adding a species other than the above listed, please research and make sure they will do well of clay.  Certain species such as both orange types of springtails, Thai reds, wood runners, and other species will not do well of clay.

Note that some species will not breed as quick on clay, such as Coecobrya tenebricosa.  They will breed and do just fine on clay, but soil does seem to increase their breeding rate by a lot.
