Palm Pod
Palm Pods are naturally dried, cup-shaped seed pods from the Borassus flabellifer tree, sourced from India. Their sturdy woody construction, fibrous texture, and unique open-cup shape make them a versatile botanical for naturalistic aquariums, bioactive habitats, and botanical-method displays. Their hollow structure also creates natural hiding spaces that fish, shrimp, invertebrates, reptiles, and amphibians can use for shelter.

Uses
Aquariums: When properly prepared, Palm Pods can develop biofilm that shrimp enjoy grazing on while creating microfauna-rich areas and natural shelter. Their cup-like shape provides unique hiding spaces and adds structure to blackwater aquariums, biotope aquascapes, and botanical-method setups.
Bioactive Terrariums: The fibrous surface provides excellent areas for isopods and springtails to colonize. The pods offer shelter and enrichment while gradually breaking down and contributing organic material to the substrate, encouraging natural foraging and exploration.
Botanical Home Décor: Their unusual cup shape and natural woody appearance make them excellent for bowl fillers, terrariums, potpourri, natural arrangements, and other botanical displays.
Craft & Art Projects: The distinctive shape and ribbed, fibrous texture provide creative opportunities for mixed-media artwork, nature-inspired crafts, and decorative projects.
Aquarium Preparation
Boil: Boil the pods for at least 15 minutes to help remove initial tannins and begin the waterlogging process.
Soak: Place the pods in clean water and soak overnight or longer, changing the water daily as needed until they become fully waterlogged and the desired tannin level is reached.
Ready to Use: Once the pods naturally sink and the water reaches your preferred coloration, they are ready to be added to the aquarium.
Please Note: Each Palm Pod is naturally unique and may vary in size, shape, texture, color, and overall appearance. Intended for decorative, craft, aquarium, and vivarium use only. Not for human consumption.
