Palm Tail Spring
One palm tail spring per item added to bag.
Palm Tail Springs are naturally dried botanical curls from the Borassus flabellifer palm, sustainably harvested in India. Their twisted spiral form and organic texture make them a distinctive addition to aquariums, terrariums, and natural décor displays. Also known as sugar palm curls.
Details
Origin: India
Size: Approx. 4–6 inches long
100% Natural: Sustainably sourced, naturally dried, and free from artificial chemicals
Uses
Aquariums: When prepared correctly, palm tail springs encourage biofilm growth and help create a more natural habitat for fish and shrimp. Shrimp especially enjoy grazing on the surfaces. The curls naturally expand and loosen once submerged. Boiling and soaking are recommended before aquarium use.
Bioactive Terrariums: Adds texture and visual interest to bioactive enclosures while providing shelter, grazing material, and enrichment for isopods and springtails. As the springs slowly decompose, they help support a healthy substrate ecosystem. The curls may open and stretch when exposed to moisture.
Decor & Crafts: Excellent for natural home décor, bowl fillers, terrarium accents, potpourri displays, wreaths, fairy gardens, and rustic botanical arrangements.
Art Projects: Their unusual spiral shape works beautifully in mixed-media art, seasonal crafts, jewelry projects, and other creative designs.
Aquatic Preparation: Boil for at least 15–30 minutes, then soak in fresh water until fully saturated, changing the water daily until the tannin release reaches your preferred level.
Note: Each palm tail spring will naturally vary in size, shape, and color. The curls may expand when wet. Intended for decorative, craft, aquarium, and vivarium use only. Not for human consumption.
